A VERY FINE and RARE Meissen figure, C.1750/55. Modeled by J.J.Kandler

A VERY FINE and RARE Meissen figure, C.1750/55. Modeled by J.J.Kandler and probably the drunken fisherman from the Commedia D'Elle Arte. I believe he is a comical figure and he is pointing out to sea and drunk. If you look at him closely, you will see how superbly modelled he is. Every detail of his clothes and arms and legs VERY FINELY modeled. This is quite an important early figure in Meissen.

CONDITION:- WONDERFULL. THIS HAS VIRTUALLY NO DAMAGE OR RESTORATION. AMAZING CONSIDERING HOW DELICATE AND VULNERABLE THIS IS. TO BE SUPER CRITICAL, I SEE JUST HIS THUMB MISSING. This would be very easy to restore if required.

Fully marked to the back of the base with the tiny blue crossed swords early mark.
